Yes. Direct ADU is a full design-build team. We prepare the architectural plans, structural engineering, Title 24, and all required documents, and we submit them to the city on your behalf. We also respond to plan check comments and work with the city until your ADU is approved.
Can you convert my existing garage into an ADU?
In many cases, yes. Garage conversions are one of the most popular ADU types in Hawthorne and surrounding cities. We check setbacks, existing structure, and parking requirements, and then design a layout that works with your existing garage shell. We also upgrade the structure, insulation, plumbing, and electrical so it meets current code.
Do I need to move out of my home during construction?
For most ADUs, you can stay in your main home while we build. There will be noise and activity during working hours, but we coordinate access, deliveries, and inspections to minimize disruption. If any short-term access limits are needed, we discuss them with you in advance.
